Why Slight Marks Can Appear on Stainless Steel (and How to Easily Remove Them)

Why can traces of rust appear on a stainless steel tank?

Stainless steel, used for Pure Filterssystems, is a high-quality material designed to resist corrosion. However, slight spots may sometimes appear on certain areas, especially the concave parts or parts near the handles.

These marks do not come from a manufacturing defect, but from a natural reaction between the steel and particles contained in the water, such as iron ions, limescale deposits or residues from galvanized pipes.

The good news is that these traces are superficial and easy to clean. They do not affect the quality of the filtered water or the durability of the product.

At Pure Filters, we have strengthened our quality controls to deliver perfectly clean tanks, and we now include a maintenance guide in every box to help our customers keep their system looking good and performing better.

In order to avoid contamination of your water purifier, be sure to wash your hands thoroughly and clean all the different parts with clean water before proceeding with the assembly, paying particular attention to the two tanks.

To keep your system in top condition

1. Regular cleaning

- Rinse the bottom and top tub monthly.

- Use warm water and a soft cloth with a little neutral soap.

- Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry thoroughly.

2. Avoid traces of corrosion

- Do not leave standing water for several days.

- Avoid contact with metal or abrasive objects.

- If a slight stain appears, gently rub it with a non-metallic sponge under cold water.

3. Don'ts

- Never use pure vinegar, bleach, or metal sponge.

- Do not use chlorinated cleaners.

4. Coldstream FTO+ Filter Maintenance

- Clean the ceramic surface under cold water using a soft abrasive sponge.
