How do Öko filter bottles work?
The Öko filter is based on a patented nano-filtration technology from NASA (Submicronics).
This technology activates on contact with water by creating an electro-magnetic charge field that captures sub-micron particles below the micron. For example, viruses, bacteria, pesticides, drug residues, parasites are submicron particles.
Öko works by pressing the bottle and thus offers the best flow rate available on the market. Indeed, by using 1.4 micron pores, the filter allows for a fast flow of water and as the nano-filtration technology takes over, it therefore ensures the removal of the smallest contaminants.
When should I replace the Öko filter?
Having a single filter that contains everything needed to filter up to 400 liters, this makes it extremely easy to use. The filter will become saturated and completely clogged when it reaches the end of its life. When you notice that the flow rate slows down considerably, we advise replacing the filter. How to clean your Öko filter bottle?
Depending on how hot your dishwasher is, the bottle without the filter can be dishwasher safe.
The filter is not dishwasher safe and will be permanently damaged if put in a dishwasher.
Unlike basic carbon filters, the ÖKO filter is a filter made of a high-performance and sensitive material. Immersing the filter in harsh or soapy detergents or hot water will not only close the pores and reduce the performance of the filter, but also permanently damage its functions.
You could therefore easily unscrew the filter of the bottle while washing it by hand or putting it in the dishwasher, then screw the filter back on when the bottle is clean.
